Dodge Barrage

For the last 2 years Crystal Hot Springs in Honeyville has sponsored a team at the Jazz Dodge Barrage, and of course, Josh jumps at the opportunity to spend the day with the team. Plus, who doesn't love to play Dodge Ball? There were some things that we liked better this year, and some things that we didn't like as much. The event was organized better, so the teams didn't have to wait so long between each game. But there were more people, so of course, we didn't get to just "hang out" with the Jazz members as much. Josh did get autographs from all of them, and even some people I'm pretty sure he didn't know who they were. (Only in Utah do you see a tall black guy and just assume you need his autograph! Ha Ha)The Jazz players didn't play as many games this year, just at the very end of the day, whereas last year they played each round. And they didn't dress up like they did last year :(

But Josh did get his picture with Big Al. So far, we have decided that we like him, and are happy he's with the Jazz.
At this point, I was actually trying to get a picture of Josh jumping. In the first game, he jumped over several balls that were thrown at him. Someone said he reminded them of a leaping gazelle! Josh told me when we were dating that he had the highest vertical leap on the football team. I didn't really believe him until I saw it for myself.

And Kyle Korver and a girl I don't know-but I'm sure she would be very happy to know that she is now on my blog forever. What can I say? It was a really good picture! Josh had a lot of fun. (He wouldn't let me play, I can't imagine why. I did so well last year, getting that one person out, and I told him that I could be their secret weapon. I mean, really, who's going to hit the pregnant lady?) His team got farther this year than they did last year by one round. So if they keep going at that rate, they just may make it to the finals someday!!

Baby Shower #1

On September 11th, my friend Hope threw a baby shower/barbeque for me. (I really just needed an excuse to get together with some friends, and Hope was nice enough to go along with what I wanted.) So we invited friends and spouses, and had a co-ed baby shower/barbeque-or Baby-Que (except that sounds like you're eating babies!)

Hope also made me these SUPER CUTE letters out of the fabric scraps from the quilt I made. She's so talented!

And in the rest of these pictures I just think it's funny that you can tell I'm saying "Cute!" in a couple of them. Of course, that word was said many times that night.



Thank you everyone who came-it meant so much to us, and for the CUTE gifts! I have learned that with babies need SO much stuff and every little bit helps!

House pictures

So, obviously I have been a blog-slacker this year. (You all know that.) I thought that part of that was because we either didn't do anything noteworthy this year, or we didn't take pictures. As I was going through our camera yesterday, I realized that we had at least a few pictures that I had never done anything with. So I did three posts to catch you up on some events of the last year. (Dating all the way back to football last fall! I know I'm awful!) This first picture is for my old roommate Jessica. She's been asking, or should I say bugging me for picture of me in all my pregnant glory for the last six months. So here you go. Jess, I hope it's everything you wanted and more.That picture should explain why I haven't taken more pictures of myself while I've been pregnant. This is at 26 weeks, so I guess it's about time to start charting the progress.

Then, we have pictures of what we've done with our house so far. All the furniture is in place, but I have endless ideas for ways that I want to decorate. (They will probably be on the back burner, what with the baby on the way and everything.) The front room. There will be cushions and curtains in the windows someday.

The family room. See the story of our house all along the way, has been that our furniture is a little bigger than we thought and the house is a little smaller. That's why this couch looks like the room was built around it. It BARELY fits, but we have taken many naps on it already to break it in.

The exercise, sports-themed room. You can kind of tell from this picture, but let me just tell you that fitting a treadmill, weight bench, and TV all in this room, and having them all be accessible to use, is quite amazing. I like having sports-themed rooms in our houses so Josh can have all of his various sports memorabilia and decorate it however he would like.

The bedroom. We're just using a sheet on the bed right now because it's so hot!!! So that's why the bed is so lovely. Check out that red wall!! I've dreamed of having a red wall in my house since Josh and I got married, and I have to say, it adds quite a bit! I didn't take a picture of the baby's room yet, because it has lots of work left. So I'll keep you posted!

Pioneer Day

Actually Pioneer Day is also Josh's brother Jake's birthday. To celebrate we ate Dutch oven food (yummy!), did a pinata, and watched a movie outside on the lawn. Here are pictures of all the kids taking their shots at the pinata. Kyle went first,

Dashboard Confessional Concert

This winter we went to the Dashboard Confessional Concert that was part of the Dew Tour. It was outside, in the middle of the road, and we were standing the whole time, squished in between a billion people, who decided that it was necessary to either jump or sway throughout the entire concert. But I was really glad I got to go because I've wanted to see Dashboard for a long time. Josh was a trooper to go with me. He also went with me to the Secondhand Serenade concert in November, and he's not a huge fan of concerts.

Of course it snowed! It was the middle of winter, in Utah! What can you expect. Luckily, it wasn't too hard!

Basketball

Josh and I got a really great deal this year on Utah State season football and basketball games. So it was fun to be able to go to most of them. This was the last basketball game of the season.
Of course, the Aggies won the WAC because they are awesome!

Football

During the game, a guy came up to me and asked if I would participate in one of those half time activities. I said no repeatedly, but Josh said yes-and he won. The best part was that the guy who was asking me to do it said, "The other girl, her name is (I don't remember), and you totally look like you could take her." HA! Like somehow that is going to convince me.
The object was to put on a jersey, and helmet, punt the ball, and run to the other side of the field. When they were explaining the instructions, they said, "You just have to kick the ball, it doesn't matter how far it goes." So I took that literally. My dad said it was the first time in history that someone outran the punt.
I figures I had an advantage since I used to wear Josh's jersey all the time. But I still lost! (They announced over the loud speaker that I won though.) The consolation prize was $40 to Angie's, so I guess it was worth the embarrassment.
