One of my new favorite traditions of the summer now is Heritage Days in our community.
We started the week off with a race the Saturday before. Grant got fourth in his race (1/4 of a mile), so he got a medal. It may as well have been real gold. He wore it and showed it off proudly!Meili got to be in the parade because she was in the play. Shasta, Shelby, and Jared's family all joined us for the parade.
Then there were the activities in the park.
Shooting the water guns was fun and games until Josh decided to soak Grant.
The love of a boy and his tractor!
...And a girl and her horse.
Cam enjoyed his first-ever pony ride.
The attendant quickly told Grant he needed both hands on the horse. This year the play was a compilation of all the shows the children's theater has ever done. Meili got to be gingerbread girl. Her song was almost the last scene of the play, and boy, was she cute!
Of course, there she is waving to mom and dad while she's supposed to be getting off the stage after her bow.
Mary Elizabeth and Sara, Shasta, and Shelby came to see the play. We were so grateful for the support she received! I didn't even tell me parents because I was worried that they would come. ;)
These are out of order, but I'm just not in the mood to fix it. :) More pictures of the big race!
