Debut Performance

Every year for our community's Heritage Days, they put on a children's play. Last year, I took Meili for the first time, and she, of course, asked when she could be in the play-which happened to be this year. I've told Josh for a long time that Meili has a natural talent for performing, which, of course, makes my star-athlete husband cringe. But, seriously, she has no problem memorizing things, she doesn't get stage fright, and she speaks loud and clearly. I wouldn't say that this play was a breakout performance for her. She was in exactly one scene, and the final bow. She was pretty distracted, as you would expect from a 5 year old. But she got the opportunity to be a UNICORN which is her dream come true, and it was a fun experience to get more involved with the community (even though the timing couldn't have been worse. 3 out of the 8 rehearsals were while we were on trek, and one performance was the same evening as Chalisse's wedding.)

Grant enjoyed himself a very melted ice cream popsicle. But, hey, it kept him entertained for a whole 15 minutes. Totally worth it!

 My mom was watching Shasta and Shelby while Sara was at Girl's camp, so she used the opportunity to see Meili's big part.
